Keep Your Armor On

Eph 6:10-18 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. (NIV)

The Belt of Truth Vs 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist,

The Shield of Faith Vs 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all

the flaming arrows of the evil one.

The Helmet of Salvation Vs 17 Take the helmet of salvation

Rom 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is– his good, pleasing and perfect will. (NIV)

2 Cor 10:3-5 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. (NIV)

NEXT STEP: I will take control of my thought life.

The Sword of the Spirit Vs 17 and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

2 Pet 1:2-4 Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 3. Can you give an example of “flaming arrows” that the evil one has thrown at you?

4. Why do you think it is so important for a believer to get control over his or her thought life?

5. Can you share of a promise in God’s word that you stood on and saw God bring that promise about in your life?

6. Of course we all need to be fully clothed in the armor of God, but what piece of God’s armor do you need the most at this particular time in your life? Explain.

Have you ever felt like you are at a place in your life where everything seems to be going wrong? You feel responsible, the pressure is mounting, and God doesn’t seem to be answering your prayers the way you want Him to. I was talking to a friend with serious family problems and he said, “I’ve done all I can do and just don’t know what else to do.” I told him, “In that case, if you have done all you can do, you’ve just got to stand.”

Ephesians 6:13 “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” (NKJ) We can utilize the whole armor of God, pray, fast, trust, believe, and do everything that the Bible tells us to do, but we cannot give up! After we have taken our stand we must endure until the end.

Join us at Believers Church Sunday at 9 a.m. or 11 a.m. as we conclude our series, “The Stand”.

Then, come back at 5:00 p.m for Kid Stuff! Where Parents and Kids come together for worship! We will be learning the next Virtue that your children will be learning. Bring your children and your favorite finger food for some fun family time of fellowship after Kid Stuff!

The Stand 02-19-12 PROMO PIC

Within us all is a desire to stand for something. We all want something to believe in, something to rally around, and something to fight for! But in the information society that we live in we are flooded with ideas, concepts, ideologies, and opinions. As a result, a lot of people don’t know what to stand for. They are “rebels without a cause”, you might say, so they stand for nothing. The problem is, if you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything. You open yourself up to deception.

If You Don’t Stand for Something, You Will Fall for Anything

How can I make that statement with confidence? Because I know there are two plans for your life. Jesus has a plan for your life and Satan has a plan for your life. Join us Sunday morning at 9 a.m or 11 a.m. and find out Jesus’ plan for your life.

2 Corinthians

Tonight- join us for “One Hour on Wednesday” at 7:00 p.m.!

We will continue to study 2 Corinthians Ch. 12. Bring the whole family, we have something for every age! See you tonight!

Richard and Jessica have a beautiful daughter Jericha, who will be four on March 31st, and recently added a new addition to their family, a baby boy named Jalen, born on December 30, 2011.

You will discover that Richard loves Jesus and is a worshipper. We are looking forward to him leading all of us in worship to the only one who is worthy of our praise!

The Stand Stage Sign

Last week was the beginning of a brand new series at Believers Church called The Stand.  We learned that if you don’t Stand for something, you will fall for anything.

Plan to come this Sunday, at 9 a.m. or 11 a.m. as we enter the second week of The Stand with “Stand and See”. Invite a friend to come with you as we learn what it means to stand on God’s Word.

I wonder how many times we are at the edge of victory, about to experience a break through and we just give up, quit, throw in the towel and concede to defeat?

In the book of Exodus, God had sent a deliverer, Moses, to bring the Israelites out of the land of Egypt and lead them to the Promised Land. That would be an adventure with many challenges along the way. The Presence of God traveled with them and God would get them to where they needed to go, but there would be times of attack and they would have to make a stand. Exodus 13:21-22 (NIV)

2 Corinthians

Believers Church come out tonight for One Hour on Wednesday! We are continuing in 2 Corinthians, Chapter 11.

We have something for everyone! YOUTH are meeting in the “Garage” for BARF night (Bring A Real Friend) and are going to have a great time. See you tonight!
