Altar Ministry

We believe that God hears people when they pray and reveals Himself to those who seek Him.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; (Philippians 4:6).

The word of God teaches us how to pray effectively, and along with the word we have the excellent example of Christ Jesus Himself to follow. Jesus was a man of prayer and was often observed by others as He took time to pray. In Luke 11:1-4 the disciples, after watching Jesus pray, looked to Him as their example and teacher.

Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. So He said to them, When you pray, say: our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Jesus never intended to teach a ritualistic prayer that must be strictly adhered to, but rather He outlined the basic contents of what a prayer should contain.
