At Believers Church, we are staff led which means our team over sees all of the different areas of the church. We are blessed to have a diverse skill set and talents within our staff, but most of all we are blessed to have a group of people who love God and love His people. Below, you will get to know our staff individually:

Senior Pastor: Scott Moore

Pastor Scott Moore is a graduate of Luther Rice Seminary, with a Bachelor of Ministry Degree, and has been actively involved in all aspects of ministry for the last 40 years. Scott was formerly employed by the Southern Nuclear Company as a licensed Nuclear Reactor Operator, but in 2001 felt God call him to dedicate himself to full-time ministry and start a church in Statesboro, GA. On May 6th, 2001, Believers Church of Statesboro began, a church of authentic Christianity expressed in love, acceptance, and forgiveness. Scott and his wife Janet Moore have been married for 40 years.

Scott and Janet have four children:

Marissa, Bradley, Tyler, and Carmen, and the joys of Scott’s life are his six granddaughters and two grandsons.

Pastor Joe Sconyers:

Worship and Creative Pastor

Joe Sconyers has been the Worship and Creative Pastor of Believers since 2013. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music (Voice) from Georgia Southern University and a Master of Arts degree

in Worship Studies (Leadership) from Liberty University. He oversees the Worship, Tech.,

and Creative teams of Believers. His goal is to

see fellow believers understand that worship is

so much more than just music or a song- it is our actions. It is everything we do and give for God!

Joe is a lifelong resident of Statesboro and Bulloch County. He is married to Katie Sconyers and they have two daughters, Addison and Elizabeth. Joe enjoys spending time with his family, going to the beach, listening to and playing music, rooting for the Georgia Southern Eagles, watching college football, and NASCAR.

Pastor Chris Hagan: Student Pastor

Chris Hagan is the Student Pastor at Believers.

He originally graduated from Ogeechee Technical College for Turf Management, however God had bigger plans. So, he returned to school at North Carolina College of Theology where he got his Bachelor's Degree in Theology.

Chris has served in student ministry for over 15 years. He has a passion to see young people know and understand the full potential God has for their lives. Chris has two daughters, Hailey and Ansley.

Mike Oglesby:

Outreach & Evangelism Pastor

Janet Moore: Children's Minister

Brandie Mercer: BC Tots Coordinator

Hi, I'm Brandie! I am the BC Tots Coordinator at Believers Church of Statesboro. I have a degree in Children's Ministry and have been working with children for over 20 years. I am a wife of almost 15 years and a homeschool mom to four kids. I enjoy going on adventures with my family and the beach is my happy place.

I absolutely love working with the birth-preschool age group. They grow so fast and are so very curious and eager to learn. My goal as BC Tots Coordinator is to provide a fun, safe place where your little ones can play and learn about the love of Jesus. I want the kids to enjoy their time in BC Tots and look forward to coming back.

I want parents to feel welcome to ask questions and be involved in what their kids are learning. I want parents to feel secure, knowing their kids are in a safe environment while they enjoy Sunday service or a Wednesday night Life Group. My goal is to always support parents as they navigate this, sometimes trying, age where the days are long- but the years are short. I'm excited to partner together with parents to raise these precious souls for Jesus!

Amy de la Cruz: Administrator

Aly Teal: Creative and Media Director

My name is Aly Teal and I am the Creative/Media Director of Believers Church. I have grown up serving in church in a variety of capacities but have always loved worshipping and working on creative projects in ministry. I worked on many Vacation Bible School sets with my parents who were Children's Ministers and participated in every worship event or production I could.

I volunteered on the worship team and creative team at Believers for six years before becoming a member of the staff. Now, I get the honor of sharing God's love in fun and creative ways full-time.

I also lead our Care Team here at Believers. This ministry focuses on supporting individuals and families through major life events such as welcoming a new baby, major sickness, and grief. We provide meals and send cards of encouragement to the families in these, often stressful, seasons of life. Leading the Care Team is one of my favorite aspects of my job because I get to see God's love in action on a daily basis.
